THE Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Co-operatives is set to launch the Coop brand on Friday, which will include a mechanism to sell five essential items – sugar, cooking oil, flour, rice and frozen chicken – cheaper than the market price, according to minister Noh Omar.
He said the brand will be launched by Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and will be held over a three-day period from 9am to 9pm in the vicinity of the Shah Alam Stadium.
“This will benefit entrepreneurs and the people through the cheap sale programme and ‘happy hour’ sale, where a whole chicken will be sold at RM5 and goods like sugar, cooking oil, rice and flour will be sold at prices that are cheaper than market price,” Noh said last night.

“The launch of the five items under the Coop brand was initially scheduled for September 1,” he said.
Noh also asked people to monitor Coop prices, adding that they can complain to the Malaysian Cooperatives Commission if they are cheaper elsewhere. – Bernama, August 17, 2022.
